How to connect a computer to the Internet?

There are several ways to connect your computer to the internet, depending on the available equipment and the type of connection offered by your internet service provider:

  1. Wired connection (Ethernet):

What you need: Ethernet cable, Ethernet port on your computer, modem or router. How to connect: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer. Plug the other end of the cable into the modem (if the connection is direct from the provider) or into the router. Usually, the connection is established automatically. If not, check the network settings on your computer.

  1. Wireless connection (Wi-Fi):

What you need: Wi-Fi adapter (built-in or external USB), router. How to connect: Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer. Find the name of your Wi-Fi network in the list of available networks. Click on the network name and enter the password (if any). After a successful connection, a Wi-Fi icon will appear, indicating access to the internet.

  1. Mobile internet (via smartphone):

What you need: Smartphone with mobile internet access, USB cable, or Wi-Fi hotspot feature. How to connect: Via USB: Connect your smartphone to your computer using a USB cable and enable modem mode on your smartphone. Via Wi-Fi hotspot: Turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot feature on your smartphone and connect to the created network from your computer using the password.

Important:

Make sure you have an active contract with your internet service provider and the connection settings are correct. If you have any problems with the connection, contact your provider’s support service.
